Must Haves For Your Dental Travel Kit

Must Haves For Your Dental Travel Kit

It is a great thing to take a vacation in the latter part of the summer. And not long after, it will be time to travel to grandma’s to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. You would not travel far from home without packing your favorite pair of pajamas and shoes. And you should also not leave your home without packing these four essentials tools for oral hygiene.

Toothbrush And Paste

Toothpaste and toothbrush is a must include in the travel kit you pack for oral hygiene. These items are easy to pack and unlike other items on the list which may be looked upon as optional, they are the ‘must haves’ to address your oral hygiene routine.

Your oral hygiene bag should be taken on the plane with you for longer flights with layovers. This will give you a chance to use the airport bathroom to brush if necessary.

Flossers

Flossers are important to add to your travel kit. This is especially true if you will have children traveling with you. Flossers are easy to tuck away in your purse or pocket and are excellent for freeing food from your teeth. They also allow you to eliminate plaque build up without the need for many strings of dental floss. Although, it is probably a good idea to keep a little dental floss on hand also.

Mouthwash

Mouthwash should be added to the must-have list if you are traveling internationally. You will appreciate having a bottle on hand after sleeping on a plane for a few hours. The bacteria in your mouth builds up while sleeping and can cause your breath to feel less than fresh.

You can pack a small bottle of mouthwash with you on the plane and use the airplane’s bathroom to freshen up a little bit before your flight lands if you feel the need. You can also use the mouthwash you packed as an emergency toothbrush if you don’t have time to stop by your hotel room.

Sugar Free Gum

This addition to your oral hygiene kit may sound a little odd at first. However, the need for this item will make sense after you think about it for a few moments. Chewing gum will help with the plugged up feeling you may experience when the airplane takes off for flight or lands.

Keeping a pack of gum in your travel kit will also give you a weapon to fight against dry mouth if you spend an extended time without a beverage. A stick of gum will also cause your mouth to feel and taste fresh.

Final Thoughts

It can be stressful to travel at times. And figuring out what to pack and what not to pack can sometimes serve to add to this stress. It is a good idea to have a list of must-have items to pick to eliminate the guesswork. It can also ensure you are able to maintain your oral hygiene while enjoying your vacation.
